Does anyone have a good bath salts recipe that can be made at home?

Thought these would be great gifts.
I would really like only bath salts related responses. I am looking for a project that I can hand make.

I make my own bath salts. It's actually very simple. All you need are Epsom salts, sea salt, baking soda and an essential oil with the scent you want. My personal favorites are orange, lavender and peppermint. If you want them to be colored you can also add a couple of drops of food coloring. Here's what you do. This makes a large batch, so you could adjust the amounts to make a smaller batch.

3 cups Epsom salts (you can purchase this at the pharmacy)
2 cups of baking soda, any brand
1 cup sea salt

Mix the salts and baking soda with your hands or a spoon or you can toss everything together in a large freezer baggy. Add two or three drops of food coloring for pastel shading and mix well. It will want to clump together with the salts and baking soda. Once that is done add about five drops of essential oil to your salts. Here again, mix very well.

You can lay the salts onto a large plate or jelly roll pan and let it dry overnight. I find that keeps the oils from causing large, hard clumps in the finished product. Then you can store the bath salts in an airtight container in a place with low humidity.

If you want to get really creative you could even add dried herbs or flower petals to the salts. The best thing about home made bath salts is that they are affordable and fun to make. If you want salts for a specific purpose (such as relaxation, invigoration or to soak sore muscles) go online and research aromatherapy to help you select various essential oils. Some are more expensive than others, but most of the more commonly used scents are very affordable.
