Dry shampoos are bad for your hair? How often should you really be clean?

Theres to many disputes. I've always heard that you should not shampoo your hair every day (I always have anyway). But some say healthy hair begins with a clean scalp and hair clean and dry shampoo is not very clean?

I have wavy hair, and shampoo once a week. Not bad as it sounds. Believe it or not, which is best for straight hair without my hair is always nice and clean.

Now I am able to see top of my scalp/crown. It was never this worse. my scalp started drying and health of my hair just worsened. I have black hair with dark brown shade. the shampoo dried the scalp/hair so much that there was no shine left and my hair started looking whitish. that's where i stopped using this product. i wish i stoped using this product before. I would no recommend this shampoo unless you want to get bold in a month. I followed the instructions of DS Shampoo that say you should wash your hair twice,but after i got out of the shower my hair looked like if i didn't use any shampoo at all or like if i washed my hair with only water. After that, i couldn't keep using DS Shampoo to see hair growth results, instead i tried another cheap shampoo and my hair looked great with no oil. I bought this along with some minoxidil to try and stop my hair from thinning. I have used Head and Shoulders for my dry scalp for years. Since I started using this I have not used the H&S once. Both my wife and me have noticed that my hair does seem a little bit thicker but I dont see it growing like crazy. My hair began falling out when i started using this but i figured i would keep going since it said your hair might fall out for the first couple of weeks. Its been a little over a month now and i just finished my first bottle of revita. My hair is still falling out and if anything its gotten progressively worse. I had low to moderate hair loss before i started using this, now its high (15+ hairs fall per shower). I am giving this another chance, but i am buying the roundtop bottle to see if its any better and if my hair doesn't stop falling out then that will be my last revita purchase ever. Its not even a good shampoo, it dries up and tangles my hair and on some parts it doesn't even come off completely from the water so it feels like gel in my hair. Although i'm beginning to see patches of hair loss on my head, the shampoo is giving my hair more volume which is the only pro to it (somehow i feel its not worth the sacrifice). I will write another review when i'm done with the second one, i'm hoping it gets better. I purchased two bottles of this stuff, and only utilized about half of the first bottle before I ended up tossing them away. The bottles arrived leaking, just like other reviewers have noted as well. I've actually had great luck with two other shampoos, one of which is available here on Amazon - check them out - Your Crown and Glory Shampoo, and the other is L-Carnitine Shampoo by Hewley (available on Amazon). Both these products have helped with a healthy scalp, in turn growing new hairs! I've had people comment about how thick my hair is getting, and about the continued new hair growth! I got the product back on March, started using it ever since .. the first 2 to 3 weeks the hair that was dead or damage actually fall out even more than expected.. but don't get nervous.. ( i thought it was a bad idea , but continue using it ).. i read all instructions and information on the bottle and the sheet that comes with the package.. this is the first step of the process.. so first it works on your scalp to clean the area and get rid of any damage hair , then it helps grow new hair in the next month.. you will see that small hair sprouts will come out on the areas where there was no hair.. One thing is that you have to leave it on your scalp for about 3 minutes to wash, and then rinse again and leave on for another 5 minutes ... ( this is so that the shampoo can get deep into your scalp.. don't worry about the size of the bottle, because it seems small, but on a daily routine it can actually last about a month or so.. believe me .. this really does work, but don't think just because new hair is growing you can stop using it, No... in the contrary, you need to continue with this treatment probably for the rest of time .. or until something better comes out.. but i will recommed this to anyone that wants results fast and steady.. i will continue using this product and keep you post it on the results... I think every few days is probably best.I haven't had any lice in my house yet and I use this shampoo more for piece of mind. I didn't normally use it on his twin sister because she has very curly out of control hair which needs alot of conditioning. Well we got the dreaded news that someone in my daughters class had lice so I immediately switched her to the Rosemary Repel shampoo and conditioner and we just found out, after two weeks of using the Rosemary Repel products and sending her to school with her hair in tight braids, that she has lice now too....so it didn't save us. I guess it's not foolproof but I'll still use it unless i find something better. I like that it may help the lice that continues to go through our community since the outbreak this summer at camp. We have yet to get it... You definitely need conditioner with the shampoo as it can be kind of drying. I also have the spray on leave in conditioner which can be used daily and doubles as a bug repellent!

I have to use a conditioner after I shampoo, or my hair becomes super tangly. So is it the shampoo that is affecting my final volume, or the conditioner? I used the same conditioner as always, and only changed out the shampoo. I didn't notice a huge difference in my hair. On the other hand, my hair wasn't flat and limp. So the shampoo must be doing a reasonably good job.This is a pretty unusual shampoo. It is vibrant green. It is thick, almost like an aloe vera. It has a fresh, herbal scent. I found it almost a bit too thick. It was hard to get it all into my hair to do the shampooing job. I would like it a bit thinner so I could more easily get it around my hair for the shampooing task.Still, it did a good job and if your hair is really thin this might be the extra boost you need to get it more lively. My only caveat is that it's rather pricey, so you'd want to really weigh if it makes a large enough difference to you to be worth that price. Apparently the company has changed the formula recently. The shampoo used to smell like a men's aftershave. It now has a pleasant fragrance.
