homemade laundry detergent ok for dishes?

homemade laundry detergent is made with borax and arm & hammer washing soda, and 1/3 bar of hand soap. Besides the hand soap the other ingredients seem ok to wash dishes with- right? A friend of mine gave me a huge bottle of homemade laundry soap, its only me and hubby here and already have an ample supply of laundry soap, im just curious if i can use it in my dish water? If you rinse it well, than why not? My mom used to use it and also shampoo in a bind. PS it smells better than Dawn!

No, I would not recommend that detergent for dishes. Borax is a poison. The last thing you want is Borax residue on your dishes.

Dish washing liquid is very cheap and available everywhere...grocery stores, drug stores, dollar stores, even gas stations.

Why not just buy a bottle of dish washing liquid?
