Canus Goat's Milk Soaps are our original products. They are available in a fragranced as well as a fragrance-free version. A 5 ounce bar is triple-milled for hardness and is very long lasting. Fresh goat's milk has long been used as a skin moisturizer. Goat's milk contains capric and caprylic acids which reduce the alkalinity found in many skin care products. This reduced alkalinity results in a pH level closer to healthy human skin. We combine an all natural soap base with fresh goat's milk and our original fragrance of essential oils which will leave your skin feeling soft and rejuvenated.

Although it has great lather, the smell of the soap will overpower the bathroom. The smell is not anything unusual, rather typical soap smell but it is SO STRONG. You can smell it on person hours after using it. Even you like the scent, it is too strong. I recommend the unscented ones.

I've been using this soap since 2007 ( 3 years as of now). It moisturizes my skin without leaving "greasy" feeling on it. Especially in the winter time with sub zero temperatures outside and heat working constantly i had a huge problem with dry/itchy skin, it has completely stopped once i stared using this soap. I would definitely recommend it to anyone to give it a try and I'm sure anyone would love it, forget all those brands You found in Your local walgreens, this is it. ~$20 for 12 pieces that last much longer than others, it's heck of a deal. 1. Moisturizes - We all get dry skin in the winter but my husband, being a man, refuses to use lotion on his itchy dry skin. Well this winter was brutal with the heat on constantly, and my husband didn't have dry skin using this soap. Impressive.2. Smell - Since there's been so much conversation about the scent: This is not a lightly-scented soap; it has a distinct smell. I really love the smell for my husband but it's not so manly or strong that I can't use it.3. Cleans - Yep, this is a soap, not a wimpy body wash. Gets the job done.

This soap is wonderful if you have any allergies, reactions to "perfumed" soaps (which most of them are, including those advertised for "sensitive skin") and want a soap bar that lasts. The soap smells like....soap, there is no other scent, and it works as any soap should. I recommend it.

great and not smelly

My mother-in-law got my wife and I into this soap. It's great if you have sensitive skin and/or live in a dry environment. She used to pay about $3 a bar in he rlocal pharmacy. This is the least expensive option that I am aware of.I'm not anti-fragrance; we've had the frangrance one too. My thing is this: I'm a guy, so it's either a manly fragrance or none at all.

I've been using Pre de Provence for months now and I can't say anything bad about them! This is not my favorite scent (lavender is), but it is still great. This brand of soap leaves my skin refreshed and not dry like everything I buy from supermarkets.

I have been looking for a simple soap that does the job (leaves my skin really clean) but is pleasant to use. I found the soap. It has a subtle scent and cleans and softens my face. I have use commericial soaps where I had to load up on moisturizer because they take the glyerin out of the soap and sell it. Love- love this soap. I almost don't want to give the secret away. Enjoy.

I bought a bar of this during a port visit in Maine, not really thinking much of it and didn't even open it for a month or so. Man, was I surprised! this soap smells so good and yet is subtle. Definitely mosturizing. When I got down to the last sliver, I went looking in stores for this stuff and couldn't find it or even find a scent that came close. I'm so happy I found it on Amazon of all places!

I love goat's milk soap! My skin dries out with any other soap or body wash. I've noticed a remarkable difference in my skin since I started using this soap. I use it on my face and notice that my skin tone is more even; I don't need to cover my face with makeup. Also, it is long lasting and economical. Love it!

I'm C's wife. I found this soap originally in Canada, I believe, and was so happy to be able to find it on Amazon!! I have sensitive skin generally and I don't like anything that might potentially clog my pores either. I'm really fussy what goes on my face day or night. I'm told often that I have very nice skin (face) though I'm 53. I think I can thank this soap for it. Been using it nonstop for over 15 years now. Won't use anything else if I can help it!

Good Soap for Acne Prone Skin

I really like this soap. I have acne prone skin and got tired of using harsh topicals like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and those horrible face washes by clean and clear, neutragena..etc.I remembered reading somewhere that goat's milk is supposedly good for this type of skin, so I drove 30 minutes to the next town just to buy some of this stuff. Here's what happened:I immediately dropped EVERYTHING I was putting on my skin that was mostly natural. I started washing with this stuff every morning and night and nothing else. This stuff is LUXURIOUS on your face. It's smooth, creamy and despite what some people say, I like the faint smell.After a few days, I noticed my skin started to break out into small, semi-flat bumps that disappeared a day or two after they appeared, but it came in waves. A friend of mine reminded me of the "purging period" in which skin detoxifies itself, especially after using so many harsh chemicals. The goat's milk soap was the likely culprit of this because it helps to sort of even out skin pH levels and the milk acts somewhat like a mild alpha hydroxy acid, removing dead skin and pulling out the impurities.I endured this for 2 weeks and literally, I woke up clear one day and never looked back. My skin settled down and now it's incredibly soft after continuing to use this soap regularly. I read in another review that this stuff isn't for really really sensitive skin. To each his own, because my skin, too, is really really sensitive. Everything irritates it and this does not.I also like that this product contains no fragrance or scented oils like a lot of other goat's milk soap products like Alabu. Those tend to break me out and this is the only brand I can find without those.This stuff has literally reminded me what it's like to have self-esteem and to be able to walk into the sun without make-up. It's definitely worth a try.

I won't purchase this again. I have very very sensitive skin and this is not for skin like mine. I believe it has made my skin worse that it has been in awhile. If you have normal skin or just slight sensitive skin it would probably be fine.

A good product

I'm intolerant, bordering on allergic, to coconut oil and cocoa butter. The former ingredient is in almost every soap on the market because it's cheap. At one point I was using Cetaphil cleanser in the bath because it was the only thing I could take. Then I found this goat's-milk soap online, and the ingredients looked promising. This soap still does leave me feeling a touch itchy after bathing (which is why I give it four stars instead of five), but it's nowhere near the suffering I'd have to bear after using ordinary soap. And it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry.

So much nicer than drugstore soap!

WOW! I'd previously used Oil of Olay with Shea Butter soap, which kept my skin smoother than other drugstore soaps. However, L'Occitane Milk Soap is just incredible - it has a soft, delicate, clean scent, and unlike other bar soaps, it doesn't soften/melt away when it sits in shower water. As a result, it stays firm and lasts a really long time! This soap feels luxurious and relaxing. The texture of the soap is just perfect, hard to describe but perfect! Well worth $10 per bar and would make great gifts. I am going to switch to this soap permanently and look forward to trying the Verbena flavor, which got glowing reviews.

Cheap soap melts easily so you have to buy more and more. This soap is big and lasts long. Creamy form lasts long, so you don't have to re-apply soap on wash-towel. Most cheap soap makes my skin dry and itchy (no matter what kind of moisturizer has been contained), so that I had to use body lotion and I had to pay extra for it anyways. L'Occitane Milk Soap gives enough moisture for dry-skin, so I don't have to wear any kind of lotion/cream after shower.

Greatest liquid soap

Last winter my hands became irritated by the hand soap I was using so I sought to find one at the health food store that had a creamy base and discovered Canus' liquid hand soap. I fell in love with the scent and discovered how soothing it is. It suds up so you need only a little which is a great bargain. I sought out other products by Canus and had difficulty, so I searched online and found them on Amazon.com for much less. Love their Body Butter and Body Wash too. I also use their bar soap.

I started using the Canus Goat Milk soap about 2 years ago. It is the best ever. I have dry skin and am prone to allergies. I can not use just any soap, so I was a little worried when a friend recommended this. Since I started using goat milk soap, my skin is not dry and a big bonus is that I have not had one chigger, mosquito or flea bite. I love the smell of the soap and it leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh. I highly recommend Canus Goat Milk Soap to everyone!

Bars too small

I tried these bars instead of the larger bath bars and they are too small for home use. If you had a lot of guests, they would be ok, but for daily use they aren't a good idea. I won't order them again.

Very disappointed

I was very disappointed with this soap. This is NOT pure goat's milk soap, it is vegetable oil soap. It leaves a film on your skin. I will have to order the goat's milk soap from B****; it is the best. Very creamy 100% goat's milk, that doesn't leave a soap film.

Eczema skin is so soft. I got this for my three year old. I love but I wish I knew they were fragant. They are really strong smelly when you first bathe with them. But it goes away. I would buy this along with Shea Butter.

This soap is one of the best ones I've used. Unlike most soaps it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry. It has a clean fragrance and rinses off easily. Since it's a gentle soap, I use it both on my face and body. Great product.

great for eczema

I've been using Canus goat's milk soaps and lotions (both fragrance free and with fragrance) for a few years now and I love it. Prior to using Canus products, I had very dry skin/eczema and even the milder soaps like Dove didn't help. But now, my skin is always so soft, almost silky! You'd never know that I suffered from severe eczema growing up. I can't believe dermatologists haven't put this on their list of recommended products yet!

No Coconut, Palm, or Palm Kernel Oils!

I can't believe how good this soap is.

I am nearly sixty and I have very dry skin. Also, about two years ago, a six month round of chemo and radiation seemed to have changed the texture of my skin much much for the worse. I had been using various brands and kinds of soaps from olive to whatever moisturizing bar was on sale at the market and while all of them did a decent job of moisturizing my skin, they didn't seem to help the texture. But using this soap along with the Canus moisture lotion and body butter has. I am not sure if one product could do it alone, but the three together seem to have a magic whammy on my skin, and not only mine, my mother and my sister use these products and they too love the way these products work.

I too have switched from using Canus because of another reviewer on here. When you really take the time to read the ingredients it makes you think about what other products you are using and what they could be doing to your body. I absolutely love Wendylou's products and have told all my friends to give them a try.

Very Nice

I went looking for a soap with shea butter to eliminate my itchy winter skin. I purchased the large bath size bar of milk scented soap from L'Occitane and while it was pricy (mine rang in at around $9), one bar lasted our family of two adults for three months. The smell is great though they don't offer anything for folks who prefer unscented products, and it pretty much took my dry skin away without having to use a lotion. I don't think it would sufficiently remove makeup if you wanted to use it on your face, but it's a great replacement for your regular bath soap. I would like to try more L'Occitane products.

IT'S LAVENDER, IT'S LOVELY

If you're as fond of all things Provencal as I am, you'll love these soaps from L'Occitane. The soaps provide a creamy light lather, and the bars are hard milled so they're long lasting. Of all the scents my favorite is Lavender, with Verbena running a close second. Not that the Milk and Vanilla aren't lovely, too, but doesn't everyone have favorites?I especially like being able to purchase the bars in two sizes. One is a little over 3 oz., just what you want for powder room. The other is over twice that size and great for tub or shower.Perhaps I can't arrange a trip to Provence, but I certainly can enjoy the fragrances!
