I'm just not a fan of feeling greasy. This rule applies to suntan oils, massage oils and baby belly oils (hey, I'm not prejudice!). So, when Earth Mama Angel Baby asked me to try it out I wasn't too excited. After all, I would have to rub something with the word "oil" in the title onto my skin.When I opened the bottle and took a sniff (with my super-sensitive pregnant nose) I was happy to find that the scent was super mild, almost nonexistent. This was a big positive for me.I used two pumps of the oil in the palm of my hand and then applied to my 24-week-pregnant belly. I was pleasantly surprised that the oil was not too watery so it didn't run everywhere. I actually used two more pumps of the oil to make sure I got enough on the sides of my stomach towards my back.Now, the big test for me was how greasy it felt after application and how long it stayed greasy. It left a very thin layer of oil on the top of my skin. I asked my hubby to feel to make sure I wasn't being overly sensitive but he could feel it, too. I went ahead and put on my pajamas and climbed into bed. About 30 minutes later the oil had completely absorbed into my skin. Not too bad for an oil product!Actually, I have continued to use Earth Mama Angel Baby Belly Oil in the evenings and, so far, no stretch marks! I would recommend this product to my pregnant friends, especially if they don't have an aversion to oil like I do.In addition, I plan to bring this oil with me to the hospital so that my nurse and/or husband can use it during labor for a perineal massage. I ordered thsi at the same time as a number of other pregnancy lotions and oils. This one is by far my favorite. It smells great, absorbs nicely and leaves my skin glowing. Honestly, every time I use this my husband comments on how healthy my skin looks! What a nice feeling to have a pregnancy glow at 7 months along!

Smells great and no stretch marks!!

Because my mother has tons of stretch mark from her pregnancies, I was worried that it was hereditary and began faithfully using this product since I started showing (second trimester). I rubbed it on after every shower and any time I start getting itchy on my belly. Despite people telling me that nothing will prevent stretch marks, I am happy to say that I have not gotten ANY stretch marks on my belly. The only ones I got were on my hips, where I neglected to put the oil! I plan on continuing to use the stretch oil after the delivery since I hear that sometime stretch marks can come on after the birth. The stretch oil smells nice, like oranges, and it always takes away the itchiness. I highly recommend it.

I am 38 weeks pregnant and have been using this oil since the very beginning of my pregnancy. I have no stretch marks and love how soft it makes my skin feel. I have never had it leave any marks on my clothes and it has no apparent odor. I have recommended this to all my friends.

This product, used with the Earth Mama Angel Baby Stretch Body Butter helped my wife throughout the pregnancy with skin itchiness and helped prevent stretch marks from appearing. Please keep in mind that is LARGELY depends on genes and your family history on whether or not you will develop stretch marks, but this definately helped my wife. I did alot of research and found this to smell great and work good. It is safer to use than many of the other over the counter items. She used to put this on right before bed, then used the body butter when she got up and when she got home from work. Use the oil liberally and don't be afraid to use on other places of the body. It helped with her itchy skin and left her skin feeling smooth and very nice to the touch. Men, do your wife a favor and surprise her with this stuff here, especially if she hates the smell of the cocoa butter. Plus with the Subscribe and Save option, you save even more! My only gaffe is this isn't really sealed, it just has a piece of tape over the pump to prevent the leaks. Make sure you lay on your side for a while if you put on before bed or it'll rub off.

This product smells like all Calendula products, which isn't that great. But it really helps my infant son's eczema. his skin went from scaling and red to nice and baby like when I switched to this product.

It doesn't seem to work but I haven't thrown it away yet.

My 1.5 year old has really bad dry scalp. This hasn't cured it, and I've been using it for more than a month. My husband says it smells like a household cleanser. It doesn't smell good. However, I am still using it because it cost so much and doesn't seem to be doing any damage. It does rinse out really well, leaving the hair clean feeling. Due to the cost (the price plus shipping), I wouldn't recommend it though.

This has no bad chems (just like Calif Baby), but it's about half the price of C.B.! The difference is the SPF. C.B. is SPF30, and Avalon Organics is SPF18. My daughter (18 mos) has fair skin & light brown/hazel eyes, and this works great for her! Nothing even close to a burn! We even used it in FL when she was 12 mos. It's also nice that it looks white as you put it on... I can tell if I've missed a spot. It eventually soaks in to the skin a little more. Only downside is that it leaves white marks on everything (the stroller, the diaper bag, etc.) But those wipe off easily enough.

i have gone through at least half a dozen baby, kids, and sports mineral sunblock. they were all sticky, thick and difficult to apply. this one seems to be an improvement. it goes on pretty smooth and is minimally sticky. the amazon price is great so its worth a try.

I love badger sunscreen! I have a few different products and all of them have worked well. I just recently switched to natural sunscreen, I'm a multi-sport athlete and spend a great deal of time in the sun. I find that this product gives me great coverage, you do have to rub it in or it leaves white on your skin. But really it's not that difficult and it's much better than all the chemicals that are in regular sunscreen. Plus it smells very yummy, all natural. I also have oily screen and worried this product might make me breakout, but since I started using badger sunscreens my skin actually appears very clear and balanced.

Great Product

I had a bad interaction with the sun and a new facial product that I had tried. This lotion was my saving grace. It stopped the irritation, the itching, and even helped tone down the redness. I now use it on a daily basis to keep my skin perfectly moisturized. I don't know how it works for other skin types but my skin type does not fall into the 'dry' or 'oily' categories, which is what most moisturizers are designed for, and it works perfectly for me. It's not greasy or oily... it just leaves my face soft and smooth.Put it in your cart and watch the price for a week or so - it fluctuates. I paid almost the cost of one bottle for the pack of two and just a few days later it was back up in price.

The Only Moisturizer that Doesn't Make me Break Out

I have used this stuff for years and LOVE it! I've tried many over the years, but every time I stray (ie find a product that seems like it would be fantastic), my face hates me the next day... and shows it with a gross break out. I don't even consider my skin to be sensitive, either! I've most recently tried Mary Kay, thinking that the expense would make it a great product. Nope. I broke out like I was 16! I'm done with straying. This stuff is amaaaazing.

I have really bad combination skin -- in addition to being very red/pink all the time, it is also very oily in some places, but extremely dry in others... so dry that a person giving me a facial once balked initially when I said that I exfoliate every day, but by the end of the facial said, "I take it back, your skin is so dry and flaky that you probably should exfoliate and moisturize every day." I personally find that when I use this product regularly along with Aveeno's positively ageless exfoliating cleanser and a really nice foundation, people see me and go on and on about how flawless my skin is. It is amazing what a difference this moisturizer makes for me. For people who cannot tolerate daily exfoliating, the foaming cleanser is nice -- I sometimes use that if I have a breakout, or feel I need the extra washing without the exfoliating, but I never stray from using this lotion -- for me it has been heaven sent. It completely soothes my skin, makes it feel incredibly cool, smooth, soft, without having an oily or greasy look or feel. I went through a stretch recently where I could not use it because of a medication and it was awful -- my face felt as if I had started working in a fast food restaurant, then had to walk home through a desert sandstorm every day to give some idea of what my skin is like normally. To go from that to having people compliment me on my "flawless complexion", I can't help but give this product the highest reviews.I realize that this product will not work for everyone, and certainly those of us with the most sensitive skin are probably going to be the most apt to try it -- hence why there are more people than typical saying they've had allergic reactions to this product. But I would venture to guess that those people have allergic reactions to almost everything and there's little chance aveeno could do anything about that and still have a product that works. On the other hand, for those of us for whom it works, it works amazingly well. It will reduce redness for the most part, it will make your dry skin softer, and all round it just feel good to have it on your face. I highly recommend giving it a try if you're looking for a good moisturizer.

GREAT FOR REALLY SENSITIVE SKIN

My dermatologist urged me to find a moisturizer with SPF to protect my skin from the sun. I have extremely dry, sensitive skin, particularly to any product with SPF, and went through a long list of sensitive skin moisturizers before I stumbled upon Aveeno Ultra-Calming. When I had tried other facial moisturizers with SPF (all of them for sensitive skin), within 2 or 3 days my face would be bright red and I'd have a painful burning sensation. Actually, my skin became so enflamed with another sensitive skin lotion that a co-worker asked me if I had gotten a glycolic face peel! After reading the reviews in Amazon regarding Aveeno Ultra-Calming, I thought I'd give it a try. For the first time there was no redness or stinging with an SPF product and my mild rosacea noticeably lightened. I love this product and have been using it for a year with great results! doesn't calm me

I bought this one of the last times my face went through one of its catastrophic episodes. My face was red, irritated, and burning. I was looking for something that would calm the burning...or at least not add to it. Second to that objective was moisturization and diminishing of redness. Unfortunately this did NOT do it. It stung when I applied the moisturizer to my uncomfortably irritated skin and the redness and inflammation increased. I tried it for a few days initially and then had to move on to something else. My face is not usually dry but during these episodes it gets painfully dry. I did not find that the Aveeno Ultra-Calming moisturizer helped soothe the dryness either.A couple of months later, the bottle still sits prominently on my counter suckering me in with the words "ultra calming" and I give it another go. But unfortunately, this moisturizer, for me, is anything but calming.

We like badger sunscreen, it is less watery than loving naturals and has a clean smell. Sometimes it doesn't blend in very well, though.

Safe, Good for daily use, but wouldn't recommend for the beach

After having done a fair amount of research, looking at a number of consumer websites, this sunscreen really seems to be the safest stuff on the market.It doesn't have any of the chemicals that are known to (in certain conditions) increase the chances of cancer, and the main ingrediant - zinc oxide - is present in mostly 200 nm sizes or larger. That's a good thing, b/c anything 30 nm or smaller can be absorbed by the skin, and could potentially be absorbed by deeper tissues as well.They have gone through great lengths to make sure that the product is engineered to be the absolutely safest sunscreen on the market, and it shows in the consumer reports after consumer reports that rate this sunscreen among the very safest. It also offers good UVA and UVB protection, another plus. (UVB rays cause sunburns and cancer, UVA rays give you wrinkles and aging...)Many other sunscreens by contrast only offer good protection for UVB rays, or use chemicals that over long period of time can be harmful. There actually aren't too many sunscreens that are safe and offer wide protection.All this being said, I have a few gripes with the sunscreen.1) It definitely smells a little funny. I wouldn't go so far to say that it smells like medicine, but it does smell like some strange herbal tea. It is not a bad smell, but its not a great smell either. The scent is not very strong as other users suggest and not really that noticeable, but it is still somewhat annoying. They should either make it unscented, or make it a more 'normal' smell...2) Contrary to what other users say, the sunscreen does not make your face white. They're probably just using too much of it. With this sunscreen a little goes a long way. You have to take a very small amount, and just rub it in carefully. It takes an extra minute or two to apply properly. The caveat though is that this is definitely NOT a good sunscreen to take to the beach. It would take a very long time to properly rub this in all over your body, so that it doesn't leave white streaks. I'd recommend this for a daily use sunscreen for primarily the face and arms.3) In my own case, after several days of use my skin tends to become excessively dry. I have to take a couple days off. Not the best for people who tend to have dry skin either.All this being said, I'd still recommend this product, because it is absolutely the safest stuff on the market. Ultimately even using a sunscreen like this every other day is probably better than no sunscreen at all. It'll protect against cancer and lessen signs of aging, so I'm willing to put up with some of the minor hassles associated with the sunscreen.

This is a great sunscreen, it is still thicker than the chemical laden versions but not as gooey/sticky/thick as some other natural kinds. It smells fine (not to strong or weird). I like it.

I love this product as it smells nice on the skin, rubs on easy as it has a creamy texture and it protects against burn all day. Unfortunately, this product caused my toddlers face to break out around his nose and mouth. Otherwise, I would recommend this product as he played for most of the day in the sun and in the water with this stuff on and absolutely no burn.

Doesn't Work - unless your willing to look like a White Monster

I've been taking care of my skin for years and using sunscreen regularly. I also care about looking good. This sunscreen in INCAPABLE of both protecting your skin and allowing you to look good at the same time. In order for the stuff to work properly, you have to smear large amounts of it all over yourself. Not only will you smell funny, but you'll look like a white ghost with visible chunks of white chemicals on your face blocking the sun.In the past, I have used other products, including Kiss My Face. They do a better job of sinking into the skin and becoming unnoticeable and ALSO protecting your skin. So you can actually go out and look like a normal human being while your getting sun protection.With this product, it will not work if you only use it sparingly, like some of the other products. You pretty much have to shellack yourself with big gobs of it, enough for you to look like a character from a horror movie, before you get protection from the sun. It can't realistically be used on a daily basis. Maybe it works great for a camping trip, or a sporting event if you don't care about looking good.
