Hair loss in women and Prevention

Female pattern baldness can start-off at the age of 30 is possible even in the 20s, and in the advanced age of 40 years. You have one or both parents to experience baldness or thinning worse than normal? If the answer is yes, for you, there at least a 50 percent chance that you may have a hereditary condition known as androgenetic alopecia or female pattern baldness, and this variety of baldness inheritance occurs in 1 in 4 women.

This is caused by a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (5a-DHT) that are released into the bloodstream. DHT prevents blood flow to hair follicles. This causes the hair to become fragile and weak, before or after death - the leaves with patches of hair loss.

With women, hair loss and baldness can be more complicated and caused by a number of factors such as hormonal imbalance, pregnancy, poor nutrition, anxiety / stress, anemia, hydration and lack of exercise, menopause, scalp and skin infections and in my case prolonged chronic Ulcerative Colitis.

The two herbs are rarely support saw palmetto and horsetail silica. For women, I suggest you find a product with ponytail silica, as the Saw Palmetto has a negative side effect for women who are pregnant or contemplating pregnancy.

Then I would like to cover what vitamins and minerals of a product must contain to be considered for the effective treatment of hair loss. Suggest that the product must contain B vitamins (vitamin B-6 of preference and biotin), zinc and magnesium. These vitamins are fundamantal because they promote healthy hair and skin.

Product review

When you read product descriptions always doubts about his comments as his natural instinct to say this is PR and marketing hype, and too good to be true.

But just say if there is a readily available product to restore and rebuild both the uncertainty and questions of belief, which uses it? Off course you do and if you are serious about curing your hair loss or pattern baldness, the first thing to investigate is a product that is approved by FDA - Minoxidil. Let me explain this in a way, I hope everyone can appreciate.

When I did my research, I found what made Minoxidil prevents DHT production, was now really excited! Minoxidil doses are extremely important because women do not need more than 2% because much of it can have a negative effect. Alternatively, for men are recommended doses of 5% minoxidil which I think is too high for women. Bodies of men and women are like chalk and cheese, so I summarize their treatment should also be atypical.

What is the next challenge?

The sources of hair loss in women are indeed very broad, however, there is a recovery of many hair growth products on the market that have proven effective in blocking both dangerous hormones and bringing the all important dead hair follicles to life.

Provillus I have discovered a natural product that meets these desires, not only has a 90 day money back guarantee, shipped right to my address in less than 4 days, but contains the FDA approved ingredient Minoxidil.

Until the date, I have experienced harmful side effects, apart from my forehead, which has a little when I started, but cured by the use of a shampoo, lubricants, and have not had innconvenience. It others can be used both as a means to care, starting before hair loss becomes severe, or after hair loss has become evident. Whatever the level of baldness or thinning is experiencing, Provillus might be just what is needed to overcome this new challenge in your life.

STEP 2: Easy Application OPTION A: ALL OVER COLOR For first time haircolor users and those who have not colored for 3 months. 1. Apply Color • Part your hair into small, even sections using the applicator nozzle. Apply color first to your damp roots and then immediately through the length of your damp hair. Do not rub into scalp. 2. Time It • Now that you have applied the color to your hair, leave it on hair for 10 minutes or the time indicated by your Strand Test. Tips from the experts: When covering gray, start where you have the most gray. Don't worry if the color of the mixture on your hair looks different from your desired color. If any color gets onto your skin or household surface, wipe it off immediately with a damp towel. For resistant gray hair, you can leave color on for an additional 10 minutes. Total time should not exceed 20 minutes. For permed or relaxed hair, leave color on for only 8 minutes total. OPTION B: ROOT APPLICATION For users who color every 4-6 weeks. 1. Apply Color • On damp hair apply mixture only to the new hair growth at the roots instead of applying color to your entire head. • Save the remainder of the color to use for the rest of your damp hair. 2. Time It • Now that you have applied the mixture to your new hair growth, leave on hair for 5 minutes. • Then gently work the remaining color through the rest of your hair (avoid rubbing into the scalp) and leave it on hair for an additional 5 minutes. Tips from the experts: For resistant gray hair, you may need to leave color on the root area for an additional 5-10 minutes before working color down for the last 5 minutes. Total time should not exceed 20 minutes. For permed or relaxed hair, leave color on for only 8 minutes total. STEP 3: Rinse and Condition 1. Rinse • Wearing gloves, add a small amount of warm water to your hair and work into a lather by gently massaging. Rinse hair thoroughly until water runs clear. For best results, wait 24 hours before shampooing. 2. Condition • Next, apply a small amount (about the size of a nickel) of the Once A Week Color Treat™ Color Conditioning Treatment-3 evenly to your hair. For best results leave on for 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Save the remainder for up to 5 more weekly conditioning treatments (See Tip below). Tip from the experts: Once a week substitute your regular conditioner for our Once A Week Color Treat™ Color Conditioning Treatment to help maintain your healthy, natural-looking color. Useful Tips From the Experts at Clairol: Apply color to damp hair that is free of styling product build-up. If hair has build-up, shampoo one day prior to coloring. Do not shampoo immediately before coloring. Your scalp has natural oils that help protect it during coloring. To prevent staining, apply a little moisturizer around your hairline. For added shine, use Natural Instincts Shine Happy 3-4 weeks after coloring. For best results, do not shampoo your hair for 24 hours after coloring. If you want to lighten your hair color, or if your hair is more than 50% gray, consider using a permanent haircolor like Hydrience or Nice 'n Easy. If you plan to perm your hair, perm first, and then you can use Natural Instincts the very same day as long as your scalp is not irritated _and is in good condition. If you plan to chemically relax your hair, relax your hair first, and then wait at least 7 days and one shampoo before coloring. If you've used a gradual color restorer, henna or metallic dyes, don't use Natural Instincts until your hair has grown out and the colored _areas have been cut off. Frequently Asked Questions: About Clairol products: What products does Clairol make? Clairol makes haircolor products. Choose from Semi-Permanent (lasts through 8-12 shampoos), Demi-Permanent (lasts through 28 shampoos), Permanent (lasts until your hair grows out or you recolor) or Highlighting & Blonding to help you become colorwonderful™. Should individuals with natural, uncolored hair use different haircolor products than those who have previously colored their hair? It depends on the desired result. If you are coloring your hair for the first time and only want to enhance your natural color, try a Demi-Permanent (lasts through 28 shampoos) product close to your natural haircolor. If you want to go lighter, you need to select a Permanent (lasts until your hair grows out or you recolor) haircolor, then refer to the insert that comes inside your box of Clairol haircolor and follow the instructions for first time application. Should people who want to cover gray hair use different coloring products than those who don't need coverage? Most Clairol haircolor products will blend or cover gray hair to some degree. If you have a small percentage of gray (not very visible), use a Semi-Permanent (lasts through 8-12 shampoos) product, such as Loving Care. If you have a higher percentage of gray hair (up to 50%), use a Demi-Permanent (lasts through 28 shampoos) product such as Natural Instincts, which will blend away gray hair. On the other hand, if you have a lot of gray and want to cover it completely, use a Permanent (lasts until your hair grows out or you recolor) product. If you have 50% or more gray, use Nice 'n Easy Gray Solution. How can I test-run a color before committing to coloring my entire head of hair? Strand test is a simple method for you to test haircolor on a portion of your hair before doing the entire application. (The instructions are in your haircolor box.) It's an important step because it's the only way to see exactly how the shade you selected works with your starting haircolor to achieve the resulting color. A strand test will also help you determine the exact timing you'll need to color your whole head. Where can I find product instructions? Product instruction inserts are inside your haircolor box. Frequently Asked Questions: What is brassiness? Most people have some level of underlying red and/or orange pigments in their hair. When hair is colored*, the red pigments can become exposed more than usual, resulting in what is commonly referred to as "brassiness." Brassiness can be caused by multiple factors, including when a person chooses a shade that is too warm for their current hair color. The unwanted red and/or orange tones will appear either right after coloring or after color starts to fade. *with any permanent haircolor product. Why is Natural Instincts Brass Free unique? Imagine a color wheel. The warm colors are across from the cool colors, making them complementary because they balance each other out. The same theory applies to hair color. Brassy (or warm) tones in hair can be counteracted by cool tones. Natural Instincts Brass Free contains brass-seeking dyes made up of the cool tones that counteract brassiness, resulting in healthy, natural-looking color and shine. Who should use Brass Free? Natural Instincts has a gentle, no ammonia formula that helps protect hair against dryness during the coloring process. The Natural Instincts formula also contains a unique blend of antioxidants and vitamins C & E. It's haircolor that actually improves the healthy look of your hair. How is it different from regular Natural Instincts? Natural Instincts Brass Free still has all the great benefits of the Natural Instincts women know and love, with an added advantage of being specifically designed for brassy starting shades. Brass Free is offered in a range of shades created to achieve rich, naturally stunning hair color without adding unwanted red and orange tones. How long does it last? Natural Instincts Brass Free is a non-permanent color that lasts through 28 shampoos. The Once-A-Week Color Treat™ Conditioning Treatment, formulated with aloe to nourish hair, helps protect hair against dryness and seals in color resulting in healthier, natural-looking color and shine for up to six weeks. Additional Instructions: BEFORE YOU COLOR: 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE Take the ALLERGY TEST. Do the STRAND TEST to determine your optimal coloring time. Read this entire instruction leaflet before you begin. IMPORTANT: SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS HAIR COLORANTS CAN CAUSE ALLERGIC REACTIONS WHICH IN RARE INSTANCES CAN BE SEVERE. TATTOOS MAY INCREASE YOUR RISK OF ALLERGY, TO REDUCE YOUR RISK FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: 1. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT AT ALL IF: You have already experienced any reaction to coloring products. You have sensitive, irritated or damaged scalp. In these cases do not conduct the skin allergy test and consult a doctor before using any haircolor product. 2. PERFORM A SKIN ALLERGY TEST 48 HOURS BEFORE EACH PRODUCT USE even if you have already used coloring products before SKIN ALLERGY TEST INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE PERFORMED 48 HOURS BEFORE YOU COLOR YOUR HAIR. You will need a cotton ball or swab, a plastic bowl and a plastic spoon. To open, unscrew the entire Gentle Activating Creme cap (Bottle #2). Don't pull off the tab. Then unscrew the Color-Enhancing Colorant (Bottle #1). Mix small, equal parts of the Color-Enhancing Colorant and Gentle Activating Creme in a plastic bowl. Tightly recap both bottles. Apply mixture to a test area the size of a quarter in the bend of your elbow. Allow to dry. Use remaining mixture for the Strand Test. Do not wash this area for 48 hours. During washing, protect with an adhesive bandage and remove it immediately after washing. Examine the test area during the next 48 hours. If no reaction occurs, you are ready to color. The absence of reaction to this test is no guarantee that an allergic reaction may not occur as a result of a future haircoloring process. However, this test represents an important precaution. Please consult a doctor if you have any doubts. NOTE: IF A RASH, REDNESS, BURNING OR ITCHING OCCURS YOU MAY BE ALLERGIC. STOP. YOU MUST NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE A REACTION DURING OR WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS OF COLORING YOUR HAIR IF DURING COLORING YOU EXPERIENCE: Any stinging or burning and/or rash, rinse immediately and discontinue use as this may be an indication of a more serious reaction. DO NOT color your hair again before consulting a doctor or seeking medical advice. Rapidly spreading skin rash, dizziness or faintness, shortness of breath and/or swelling eyes/face, rinse immediately and SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. IF AFTER COLORING OR ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS YOU EXPERIENCE problems, such as skin itching, skin rash, swelling to eyes/face, blistering and/or skin or scalp weeping SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. SPECIAL CAUTIONS: This product contains ingredients including hydrogen peroxide, which may cause severe eye irritation and possible permanent eye injury. If any product gets into your eye, flush immediately with a large amount of lukewarm water and seek medical advice. We recommend removing contact lenses before applying haircolor. If you must wear contact lenses during application and if any product gets into your eye, remove the lens first, then flush immediately with a large amount of lukewarm water and seek medical advice. Never use haircolor on eyebrows or eyelashes or if your scalp is irritated or injured. Do not inhale or ingest product. Do not use if your hair has been colored with henna or metal dyes. Prepare and use the product in a well-ventilated area. If you experience inhalation difficulties, move to fresh air. Remove all metal objects from hair before and during coloring. Wear gloves and rinse hair well after application. Keep product in a cool place away from heat and light. Do not mix this colorant with any other product. Do not keep any unused mixed product. Do not leave the mixture in a closed bottle (bottle may expand or burst). Product not intended to be used on children. Keep all haircoloring products out of reach of children. STRAND TEST: Do the Strand Test each time you color to determine optimal timing and color results. Perms, relaxers, previous color, and the sun can affect your results and timing. You will need: scissors, tape and a clock. Cut a ¼ inch wide strand from the darkest or grayest part of your dry hair close to the scalp and tape at the cut end. Dampen with water. Completely cover the hair strand with the mixture remaining from the Allergy Test. Start timing. After 10 minutes (8 minutes for permed or relaxed hair), check the strand. If the strand is not the color you want, return it to the mixture and check the color every few minutes for up to 20 minutes. Fill in your personal color time below: My timing for desired color: _______ minutes.

If the shade you used was too dark, shampoo several times to make it lighter. Next time, choose a lighter shade and perform the Strand Test to check the color and determine optimal timing. If the color becomes too dark on the ends of hair, apply Loving Care to new hair growth only (right at the scalp). Leave it there for most of the application time. With 5 minutes left, work the color from the new growth through the rest of hair. When application time is finished, rinse.

You'll get up to 8 weeks of hair color full of depth and dimension. How To Use DO SKIN ALLERGY TEST 48 HOURS BEFORE EACH APPLICATION EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY USED COLORING PRODUCTS PREPARE COLOR • Put on the Expert Colorist Gloves. • Pull off and discard tear-tip from the Color-blend Activator applicator bottle (2), then unscrew the applicator bottle cap. • Open Color-blend Formula bottle (1) and pour contents into applicator bottle (2). • Replace applicator bottle cap. • Place gloved finger over applicator tip, point away from face, and shake well until the color has totally blended and the mixture has thickened. • Immediately apply the color to your hair. ONCE MIXED, NEVER RESEAL OR STORE THE COLOR IN A CLOSED CONTAINER AS IT COULD BURST. ALL OVER COLOR APPLICATION Ideal for first time users or if you haven't colored for several months. STEP 1: APPLY COLOR • Part your hair into small, even sections using the applicator tip. • Apply color first to your roots and stubborn grays. • Work through hair from root to tip to ensure full saturation, but don't rub into the scalp. • Pour any unused color mixture down the drain as it will lose its effectiveness after an hour. • If any color gets on your skin, wipe it off with a damp towel. STEP 2: TIME IT • Leave on for 25 minutes or the time indicated by your Strand Test. • Tip: If your grays are really stubborn, it may be necessary to leave color on for up to 45 minutes. For Ultra Light Blonde shades, leave the color on for up to 45 minutes as well. Nice ’n Easy—Layers rich tones and contouring highlights in one simple step! STEP 3: RINSE AND GLOSS • Add a small amount of warm water and massage into a lather. Rinse until water runs clear. • Apply the ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss to condition and lock in highlights and shine. • For optimal color results, leave on for 2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. • Save remaining ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss and continue to use once a week (after shampooing) in place of your usual conditioner for a total of 6 weeks of optimal color, shine and softness. • Tip: For best results use a quarter-size amount for each application. Our exclusive ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss helps seal in beautiful, natural-looking color and adds intense shine! ROOT APPLICATION Ideal for users who color every 4-6 weeks to help keep hair natural-looking and ensure even color root to tip. STEP 1: APPLY COLOR • Part your hair down the middle and apply the color mixture to your roots, use applicator tip to separate your hair into sections and continue applying the color to your roots only. Save the remainder of the color to use for the rest of your hair. STEP 2: TIME IT • Leave the color on your hair for 20 minutes or 5 minutes less than the time indicated by your Strand Test. • Then gently work the remaining color through the rest of your hair, but avoid rubbing it into your scalp. Leave the color on your hair for an additional 5 minutes. STEP 3: RINSE AND GLOSS • See instructions above. Tip: If your grays are really stubborn, it may be necessary to leave color on for up to 45 minutes. For Ultra Light Blonde shades, leave the color on for up to 45 minutes as well. Fill in your personal color time below: My timing for desired color: _______ minutes. Color Hints & Tips Use Nice ’n Easy for ultimate natural-looking color with rich tones and contouring highlights in one simple step! Apply color to dry hair that is free of styling product build-up. If hair has build-up, shampoo one day prior to coloring. Do not shampoo immediately before coloring. Your scalp has natural oils that help to protect it during the coloring process. If any color gets on your skin or household surface, wipe it off immediately with a damp towel. Use the ColorSeal Conditioning Gloss only once a week. It has been designed to give you long-lasting benefits. For best results use a quarter-size amount per application. If your hair has been recently permed or relaxed, wait at least 7 days and 1 shampoo before coloring. Do the Strand Test since your timing may need to be reduced. If you plan to perm or relax your hair, wait at least 7 days and 1 shampoo after coloring. If you've used a gradual color restorer, henna, or metallic dyes, do not use this product until your hair has grown out and colored areas have been cut off.

Whether your starting color is light blonde to dark brown or even black, you can easily become completely, beautifully blonde.Expert color advice.Find blonding information to help you get and keep the lighter look you want. What to expect.A strand test will indicate your optimal blonding timeDarker starting colors will go through more stages of lighteningYou may see red, orange or gold tones during the lightening process—leave the mixture on longer to remove these.First time blonding? Then you should apply the lightening mixture to your roots last. Heat from your scalp will accelerate the lightening process, so your roots will need less time to become as light as your tips.Keep it conditioned. To lock in color and shine, apply ColorSeal Weekly Conditioning Gloss once a week after shampooing. How To UseGET READY TO LIGHTENUse an old towel to protect your clothing and household surfaces.Have a clock handy for timing.Wear the gloves provided when you prepare and apply the lightening mixture.HOW TO PREPARE HIGHLIGHTING MIXTURE Holding away from face, shake the Lightening Powder (1) packette before opening to make sure contents settle to the bottom.Wearing the gloves provided, remove the cap from the Developing Creme (2) bottle and pour the contents of the Lightening Powder (1) packette into the bottle. (Note: if using Born Blonde Maxi, be sure to use both Lightening Powder (1) packettes.) Put on the special applicator tip and place a gloved finger over the opening. Shake well until powder dissolves.Reopen and pour the Liquid Lightener (3) into the Developing Creme (2) bottle. Replace the tip.Place a gloved finger over the applicator tip opening. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.Apply the lightening mixture to your hair immediately. Never reseal bottle or store color mixture in a closed container. Once mixed, a sealed container of haircolor could burst. HOW TO APPLY LIGHTENING MIXTUREFor first time lightener users STEP 1 APPLY LIGHTENING MIXTURE Part dry hair into four sections and use plastic clips to secure in place.Start at the darkest part of your head (usually at the back). Make narrow 1/4 inch parts and squeeze applicator bottle to apply Born Blonde to each hair strand, keeping lightening mixture 1 inch away from scalp. Use your gloved fingers to work the lightening mixture through to hair ends, but do not apply to root area at this stage.Continue until the hair strands of all four sections are evenly covered with lightening mixture. You should save 1/3 of the lightening mixture to complete the application at the root area.If any lightening mixture gets on your skin or household surface, wipe it off immediately with a damp paper towel. STEP 2 TIMELeave the lightening mixture on your hair for half the length of time indicated by your Strand Test or 20 minutes.Check the progress of your blonding from the first section of hair applied with the lightening mixture. Wipe a strand with a damp paper towel and check the shade. Your hair should have no red tones and should have lightened to the orange stage similar to the color of a pumpkin. If the hair strand is not light enough, reapply the lightening mixture to the same strand and continue checking every 5 minutes.Once the strand from the first section has reached the orange stage of lightening, YOU CAN NOW APPLY THE LIGHTENING MIXTURE TO THE ROOT AREA. Begin at the darkest part of your hair as before. Make 1/4 inch parts and apply the lightening mixture to the 1 inch root area that you left uncovered. Continue until the root area of all four sections is evenly covered with lightening mixture. Gently work the remaining lightening mixture through all of your hair, but do not rub into scalp. Loosely pile hair on top of head and resume timing.Leave the lightening mixture on for the remaining time indicated by your Strand Test. Maximum total time should not exceed 90 minutes.Check the progress of your blonding from the first section of hair applied with the lightening mixture. Wipe a strand with a damp paper towel. Check evenness of lightening, from root to tip. If your root area does not match hair ends, reapply the lightening mixture to the same strand and continue checking every 5 minutes until you achieve overall even lightening. STEP 3 RINSE, SHAMPOO & CONDITIONThoroughly rinse the lightening mixture from your hair until the water runs clear.Shampoo hair with a mild shampoo.Apply the Moisture Intensive Conditioner evenly to hair. For best results leave on for 2 to 5 minutes.Rinse and style your hair as usual. Discard any unused lightening mixture. If toning hair, please refer to the Haircolor Selection Guide* and apply toner according to its accompanying instructions. To keep hair shiny week after week, use the Moisture Intensive Conditioner once a week after shampooing. ROOT APPLICATIONFor hair lightener users who lighten every 1-2 months For hair lightener users with hair ends that are too light STEP 1 APPLY LIGHTENING MIXTURE Part dry hair into four sections and use plastic clips to secure in place.Start at the darkest part of your head (usually at the back). Make narrow 1/4 inch parts and squeeze applicator bottle to apply lightening mixture only to the new growth at the roots. Do not overlap lightening mixture onto previously lightened hair. Continue until the new growth at the roots of all four sections is evenly covered with lightening mixture. If any lightening mixture gets on your skin or household surface, wipe it off immediately with a damp paper towel. STEP 2 TIMELeave the lightening mixture on your hair for half the length of time indicated by your Strand Test or 10 minutes. Body heat from the scalp accelerates the lightening action making new growth lighten in less time. Check the progress of your blonding from the first section of hair applied with the lightening mixture. Wipe a strand with a damp paper towel. If your new growth at the roots has not reached the level of lightness that matches your previously lightened hair ends, reapply the lightening mixture to the same strand at the root area and continue checking every 5 minutes until you reach the lightness desired. If you have not reached the lightness desired after 90 minutes, refer to Strand Test** for further instructions. If you have any questions, call the Expert Color Consultants for advice. Do not exceed maximum time of 90 minutes. Haircolor Selection Guide* If you want your hair to be: You'll love Clairol Natural Instincts Shade: Light Blonde 02 Sahara (Light Blonde) Medium Golden Blonde 04 Sunflower (Medium Golden Blonde) Medium Ash Blonde 06 Linen (Medium Ash Blonde) Strawberry Blonde 7R Saharan Rose (Strawberry Blonde) Useful Tips from Born Blonde If you have purchased Born Blonde Maxi lightener kit, your kit will contain 2 Supreme Lightening Activator Powder packettes. Born Blonde Original & Born Blonde Ultra Blue will contain one packette. If this is your first tie apply a hair lightener, and your hair is longer than shoulder length or very thick, you may need two boxes of your chosen lightener. Apply Born Blonde lightener to dry hair that is free of styling product build-up, shampoo at least one day before applying any Born Blonde lightener. However DO NOT shampoo immediately before applying Born Blonde lightener, as this will wash away the natural oils that help protect your scalp during the lightening process. Expert Lightening Advice When lightening for the first time, be sure to apply the lightener mixture to the root area last to ensure even blonding results. Body heat from the scalp accelerates the lightening action making hair nearest the scalp lighten faster than hair ends.During lightening, hair goes through some or all of the following stages of lightening: 1) Black 2) Brown 3) Red 4) Orange 5) Gold 6) Yellow 7) Pale Yellow The darker your current hair color, the more stages your hair must be lightened through to achieve a blonde result. Don't be surprised if you see red, orange, or gold tones in your hair after you have applied Born Blonde. Leaving the lightener mixture on longer will remove them and allow you to reach your desired level of lightness. If using any of these Born Blonde lighteners to pre-lighten hair before adding our recommended toner, lighten hair to yellow without a trace of red, orange, or gold tones. This yellow color is similar to the color of a banana skin. Lighten hair to pale yellow, similar to the color of the inside of a banana, if adding a very light blonde toner. Please see Hair color selection Guide inside. Reapply Born Blonde lightener every 4 to 6 weeks using the Touch-Up Application method. Be sure to reapply only to the new growth at the roots. Do not overlap lightener mixture onto previously lightened hair; this could weaken hair and cause breakage. Clairol Frequently Asked QuestionsWHAT PRODUCTS DOES CLAIROL MAKE?Clairol makes haircolor products. Choose from Semi-Permanent (lasts through 8-12 shampoos), Demi-Permanent (lasts through 28 shampoos), Permanent (lasts until your hair grows out or you recolor) or Highlighting & Blonding to help you become colorwonderful™.SHOULD INDIVIDUALS WITH NATURAL, UNCOLORED HAIR USE DIFFERENT HAIRCOLOR PRODUCTS THAN THOSE WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY COLORED THEIR HAIR?It depends on the desired result. If you are coloring your hair for the first time and only want to enhance your natural color, try a Demi-Permanent (lasts through 28 shampoos) product close to your natural haircolor. If you want to go lighter, you need to select a Permanent (lasts until your hair grows out or you recolor) haircolor, then refer to the insert that comes inside your box of Clairol haircolor and follow the instructions for first time application.SHOULD PEOPLE WHO WANT TO COVER GRAY HAIR USE DIFFERENT COLORING PRODUCTS THAN THOSE WHO DON'T NEED COVERAGE?Most Clairol haircolor products will blend or cover gray hair to some degree. If you have 50% or more gray, use Nice 'n Easy Gray Solution.HOW CAN I TEST-RUN A COLOR BEFORE COMMITTING TO COLORING MY ENTIRE HEAD OF HAIR?Strand test is a simple method for you to test haircolor on a portion of your hair before doing the entire application. (The instructions are in your haircolor box.) It's an important step because it's the only way to see exactly how the shade you selected works with your starting haircolor to achieve the resulting color. A strand test will also help you determine the exact timing you'll need to color your whole head.WHERE CAN I FIND PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS?Product instruction inserts are inside your haircolor box.Additional InstructionsBEFORE YOU LIGHTENRead this entire instruction leaflet before you begin.Do the STRAND TEST to determine your optimum lightening time.Do not shampoo immediately before lightening – your scalp has natural oils that help protect it. Reseal Lightening Powder (1) tightly to avoid spilling. Then add 1 teaspoon of the Liquid Lightener (3) and mix well. Completely cover the hair strand with the lightening mixture and start timing. Refer to the Born Blonde Shade Results Chart on the back of the box for your expected lightening result. Depending on how light you want your hair to be, you should leave the lightening mixture on a minimum of 20 minutes, up to a maximum of 90 minutes. After 20 minutes, wipe the strand clean. If the strand is not light enough, return it to the lightening mixture and check every 5 minutes. Remember your hair looks darker when wet.Rinse the strand thoroughly and towel dry gently.
