Olive Oil and Skin Care

Olive oil has many uses. It is the cult oil in the Mediterranean diet due to its nutritional properties and many other countries, including olive oil in their daily diets. Not only that, but because of its antioxidant benefits, is being built by many cosmetics companies as an ingredient in skin care to beauty products.

Olive oil has been used since ancient times. It was discovered more than five thousand years by the Egyptians, you just used for body and hair massage. Other cultures, like the Greeks, Phoenicians and Romans also discovered the beneficial properties of olive oil. The Romans and the Arabs extended and popularized its use. In those days only to make soaps and perfumes from olive oil and moisturizers to keep skin protected athlete.

1 - Because it is an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from the harmful action of free radicals, slowing the aging of the skin.

2 - Also used as a moisturizer to keep skin elastic, hydrated and soft. Try this mask at home: mix olive oil with egg yolk and some honey. Put this mixture on face and leave for fifteen minutes. Rinse with warm water.

3 - As a tonic for the hair to add shine and to keep it moist. This is a fantastic hair mask: mix olive oil with two eggs. Apply on hair and let sit for thirty minutes. Wash as usual.

4 - Good for the hands. Add a little sugar and two tablespoons of olive oil. Rub your hands with this mixture. Rinse with warm water.

5 - Strengthens nails. Soak nails in lemon juice and olive oil for five minutes. You can leave overnight, but you should use gloves.

6 - If your mascara is dry add one or two drops of olive oil.

7 - Can be used for body massage and can be added to the bath with its usual product or skin care.

8 - Olive oil homemade recipe: This recipe uses olive oil to moisturize the skin care mask and rejuvenating skin. You need a few drops of olive oil, one egg yolk and a tablespoon of honey. Mix all ingredients and apply on face and neck. Leave on for about twenty minutes and rinse with warm water. Splash some cold water on your face and apply a moisturizer.
