What is a good baby shampoo and body wash for toddlers with dry itchy skin, our babies pediatrician told us to?

use dove soap without perfume for both shampoo and wash. Today we took him to see a dermatologist and he prescribed 2 different lotions and some type of syrup for dry skin, didn't seem to find any skin condition. I don't really feel like giving him all that stuff, should I give them a try or just try some organic/natural products like Aveeno for babies, I know the doc is the best for advice and he has given it, I'm just not too convinced.

My daughter was a newborn in the fall/winter and her skin got very dry so we tried Aveeno baby wash and lotion and it helped. But try the creams your doctor gave you first.
