how to repair very dry, damaged hair?

so im 14 and my hair is already very damaged. around christmas, i dyed my naturally blonde hair brown. i kept that for about a month, then dyed it back to blonde. then i gave myself highlights. then i went to a salon and got it dyed even blonder with more highlights and cut it short. now its back to its original length, and ive decided to stop all of the coloring. all summer i havent done anything to my hair except shampoo every 2 days with a sulfate free shampoo & pantene moisture renewal conditioner. so i have about 3 inches of roots and 7 inches of colored damaged hair. the damaged hair is dry, and whenever i dont put a leave in conditioner in my hair, it is very poofy and lacks any shine. i also use pantene time renewal deep conditioner 2 times a week.
are there any products that will make the damaged part less poofy & dry? also, what is a kind of cheap conditioner that works better than pantene? tresemme or something?

Pantene is pretty much one of the best drug store conditioners that're cheap. Here's something you can do with your conditioner that's very useful; When you're washing your hair and you've reached the point where you've put conditioner all over your hair, get a shower cap and put it over your hair. Then get a hot towel and wrap it around the cap. Keep it on for 15-20 minutes and take it off. It'll make your hair much more soft, and if you continue doing it through every shower, it'll help restore your hair.
As for the poofy thing, you can get garnier leave in conditioner or silk drops (forgot the brand for that)
