You can find in the areas of plumbing stores. Make sure you check the label and says he is 100% sodium hydroxide (lye). The mark most are buying Roebic 2 Lbs. Heavy Duty Crystal Drain Opener. The other mark is root CRYSTALS OF HOUSEHOLD LYE DRAIN OPENER in a container of £ 1. Good luck with your new hobby.

Beginners soap, Need to buy molds?

The soap mold first used a box of old comfortable that was taking up space in my basement. Most soap makers start with some type of rectangular container. Must be at least 3.5 inches high, and this will give a margin for error. PVC pipe is also popular for making soap round and is available at any hardware store for a nominal fee and you may have in your garage or basement.

Most cardboard boxes work as well as soap molds. Except a few and see what works best for volume of soap. You can easily online with a plastic trash bag that has been cut along the seams and established through the box and goes into the corners. The soap slide easily from the mold and you can then ring the right bag soap.

If you use a large flat box, then you can pour the soap about 1.5 inches thick over the entire surface of the box. By doing this, please be sure to give some layers additional insulation when curing large flat surface as they dissipate heat much faster than a lot thicker. After 24 hours then you can use cookie cutters for cute shapes ending soap. If the soap is still too wet to lay bare for a few hours and should be hardened enough to allow a nice cut with cookie cutters.

Triangle bars are great looking bars that are easy to make. Take your block of soap with the mold after 24 hours and cut into strips lenghth wise about 2.5 inches wide. Beginning at the end of each strip and then cut the 45 degree corner. Then make another cut in the opposite direction, back to 45 degrees. This makes the soap Nice wedges that are very attractive and easy to sell.

If you would like pour soap into balls of your block of soap more than 2 inches thick. Then, after 24 hours will undertake the soap into the mold and get an ice scream scoop and start making soap balls. Be sure to wear protective gloves to soften the edges. If you have two different soaps available that can scoop large chunks of each and use contrasting colors to make a ball of soap truly unique.

Specialty soap, you can use the extra candy molds that can have in your kitchen. Be sure to use only those who have no intention of making more sweet. Sometimes used old dessert cups with a nice round shape and make a very attractive bar of soap. Examine any and all utensils and baking molds that you are not using, these make great makeshift soap molds.

If you have trouble removing the soap from the molds, let stand the soap in the freezer overnight. The soap mold will leave the following morning. Some soap makers put a thin layer of petroleum jelly molds that have corners. Do not use shortening because saponified start with its mixture of soap.

Description

In the early 19th century, soap bars were stamped with the soap makers identifying imprint. Working with Rampal Latour, a 100 year old soap making company in the South of France, this tradition is continued with four rich, fragrant soaps, each imprinted with a mold based on those in Latours private collection from the 1920's and 1950's.
